Safe Shirt Textiles: Tested for Harmful Substances
A bespoke shirt is worn directly on the skin for 12 hours or more every day. At hemdwerk, we place the highest priority on your health and skin comfort. All fabrics, sewing threads, buttons, interlinings, and accessories strictly comply with the international OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 (Product Class II).
This guarantees that no legally prohibited or harmful chemicals, toxic dyes, or skin irritants are present in any of our shirting components.
Strict limit values for textiles worn directly against the skin.
Every thread, button, stay, and fabric layer is tested.
Manufactured under European environmental and safety laws.
What is Tested in Laboratory Audits?
The OEKO-TEX® laboratory test criteria encompass hundreds of individual substances and far exceed international legal requirements:
- ✓ No carcinogenic or allergic dyes (z. B. Azofarbstoffe)
Audits & Continuous Verification
The certification is issued exclusively by independent OEKO-TEX® member institutes (such as Hohenstein or Centexbel) and must be renewed annually through rigorous sample audits.
Selected fabrics in our catalog also carry the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), certifying organic farming without synthetic fertilizers.
