For the composition and equipment of shirting fabrics, please see the respective detail page for each fabric on the page "Fabrics". WashingWashing in the machine at 40 degrees is sufficient, hand washing is not necessary. If you want to treat your shirt very carefully, you can turn it inside out before washing and place it in the drum wrapped in a pillowcase. Spots can be pre-treated with soap. However, be careful not to use aggressive detergent or stain remover, as the surface of the fabric or the color can become spotted. |
IroningIroning is not of fun. Therefore have yourself done this work as easy as possible. Washing with no spin or slow spin makes the shirt in the machine wrinkle less.During the subsequent ironing the shirt should be damp. If it has already dried, spray it with a water sprayer and put it in a plastic bag where it should stay for about one hour. Thus, the moisture can penetrate deep into the tissue again and spread evenly. The temperature of the iron should always be adjusted accordingly. StarchingIf possible, avoid all types of starch when ironing or in the laundry. This makes your tailored shirt fade faster and can - especially around the collar - destroy the texture.Since all types of collars (except button-down) are made relatively strong, they do not need to be starched through normal use. |
